I find empty or negative space in an image fascinating. It has the ability to allow an image to breathe and to find its own place. Space in itself can strengthen minimalism, transform architectural and even provide a narrative.

With "Lips" I wanted to portray a relationship, but to do so in a stylish even decadent way. To give space to perhaps a more classic era, a more intimate time where effortless sophistication mixed with an underlying waywardness. Traits which are elusive even extinguished by the more banal, uniformed casual and conformist social environment of today.

I wanted to achieve this by the use of minimal subjects or prompts which are positioned within a space, Then to use that space as the catalyst to give the viewer the opportunity and encouragement to complete the narrative in their own way, one that is more personal even intimate in its resolution.
